Treasure Studios originated as “Peter Treasure Photography” in 1998 working out of one of the rooms of Peter & Rachel Treasure's home. By 2000 Peter had brought his wife Rachel into the fore front of the business doing Graphic Design and working with his images to devise a new era in photography. In 2001 the business was moved to an old church under a new name of Treasure Photography & Graphic Design where Peter & Rachel worked out of two small offices. The business suddenly took off as Peter & Rachel finalised their new techniques and built a strong foundation in rapid time. This allowed Peter & Rachel to form their company Treasure Group Pty Ltd and change the business name again to the present Treasure Studios. This is the final name (so they say). But again in October 2002 Treasure Studios grew out of the Church and needed a larger studio and offices. They bought and renovated 601-607 Flinders St West in Townsville and moved there in April 2003. The Beautiful Studio Gallery is now the Largest Photographic Studio in Townsville.

In 2005 the company has grown to encompass Photography, Videography, Graphic Design and Websites ( Webfirm ). Treasure Studios has also opened an office in Cairns, North Queensland. This Office is the birth of the companies latest projects which you will see on this website first!! The company has a number of associates who support the great work that Treasure Studios does.

Peter and Rachel are extremely proud of their shop front gallery and wish to welcome any one in for a friendly visit. Peter & Rachel are both very well known around Australia and to some extent the world as perfectionists towards their work. Their passion is for their work and clients exuberance when they see the finished image or design.

Peter's history as a photographer can only be described as exhilarating Peter Treasure who lives in Townsville, North Queensland is referred to as the sleeping giant of digital photography. With training that would make any of us envious, we can only but expect the very best in digital photography.

Peter originally from East Gippsland, Victoria became a cadet photographer with the local newspaper in 1987 where for three years he learnt the basics of photography. The Royal Australian Airforce snapped him up as a photographer in 1990. Peter was trained by the Airforce to be the best in his field with operations within Australia and Overseas. Peter was also trained as a flight test photographer recording the testing on Australia’s fighter jet aircraft. He still is only one of a handful qualified flight test photographers in Australia. His experience gave him the ability to be inserted into East Timor as one of our leading men at arms with camera ready to record one of Australia’s most historical events, Australia the Peace Keepers. This isn't the best of what Peter can do, his true expertise lies in the art of Digital Photography. In 1994 Peter was given the task of testing and recording the ongoing rapid change of the digital photography world. Peter had a very prominent position testing the very best in digital cameras, computers and software to find the most cost effective and labor saving digital system combinations available. In 1999 Peter achieved the systems, techniques of digital photography and implemented them into the Townsville RAAF Base photography division where he was in charge. For this and achievements overseas in East Timor he was presented the Townsville Airman of the Year Award. Peter then focused his efforts on building his own business that he had been operating part time since 1998. At 35 and with 18 years professional experience, the sky is the limit for Peter and his future endeavors.

Rachel has loved art since the start of high school and ever since she discovered her passion has been working towards being the best in her field. By studying for five years at a well renowned Graphic Arts college in Adelaide she achieved a very high standard of work receiving distinctions in most subjects. After finishing study Rachel found herself married to a photographer and heading for Townsville in 1998. After working with various printing companies and Advertising Agencies Rachel found that Townsville lacked in creativity so she decided to make her mark in the community by starting her own business alongside her husband Peter. Working with such a variety of royalty free images has got to be a graphic designers dream and Rachel has it all!! Being able to produce your own postcards, calendars, Designer posters etc basically anything to do with photos and design is just fantastic. Rachel is the backbone of the business putting the edge on Peters Photos. With 7 years experience, Rachel has not only grown as a designer but at 30 now enjoys a confidence in business that she has never experienced before.
